About the Vidhi

Varalakshmi Vratham is an auspicious Friday observance dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, performed by married women for family prosperity, husband's wellbeing, and household abundance. This powerful vrata brings the combined blessings of Ashta Lakshmi (eight forms of wealth). The ceremony includes kalash decoration, Lakshmi worship, vratam katha recitation, and sacred thread tying.

Recommended Muhurat & Timing

Observed on the Friday before Shravan Purnima (full moon), typically in July-August. The puja is performed in the evening, and the vratam thread is tied during the ceremony.

Ritual Vidhi & Flow

Ceremony lasts 2-2.5 hours: - Kalash decoration as Goddess Lakshmi - Goddess invocation and prana pratishtha - Ashta Lakshmi mantras - Vratam katha (sacred story) recitation - Sacred thread (kappu/raksha) tying - Sumangali (married women) blessings
