About the Vidhi

Sunderkand is the fifth book of the Ramcharitmanas, composed by Goswami Tulsidas in Awadhi. It is devoted to Hanumanji's leap to Lanka, his meeting with Mata Sita and his return. It is recited as a complete path, usually in one sitting of about two to three hours. The pandit begins with a sankalp in the family's name and an invocation of Lord Ganesha, recites the whole Sunderkand before an murti or picture of Hanumanji or the Ram Darbar, and ends with Hanuman Aarti and prasad.
