About the Vidhi

Sunderkand, the fifth book of Goswami Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, is sung in a musical format with a lead singer and instruments such as harmonium and tabla, and the family and guests can join the refrain. The ritual elements are the same as the standard path: a sankalp, and invocation of Lord Ganesha and Hanumanji, the Sunderkand itself, and Hanuman Aarti with prasad. A sung path takes longer than a plain recitation, so plan for a few hours and a space where musicians and guests can sit.
