Overview & Significance

Navchandi Yagna is the grand Devi ritual in which the Durga Saptashati (the 700-verse Chandi path) is recited nine times and the yagna is completed with havan offerings and purnahuti. Families perform it to seek Goddess Durga's protection and blessings, often during Navratri or at a major new beginning. Five pandits conduct the full ritual at your home in a single day.

About the Vidhi

Chandi is the fierce, protective form of the Goddess. The Durga Saptashati, also called the Chandi Path, is the scripture that praises her in 700 verses across 13 chapters. In Navchandi the path is recited nine times, and the yagna is completed with havan offerings and a final purnahuti. Traditionally the ritual is spread over the nine nights of Navratri. Most families today perform the complete Navchandi in one day, and that is how this package is conducted. The exact order of the rites can vary with the pandit's tradition. Five pandits recite and conduct the havan together at your home. The pandits bring all puja and havan samagri.

Recommended Muhurat & Timing

Navratri is the most traditional time, especially Ashtami and Navami. Outside Navratri, many families choose an auspicious date with their pandit, often a Tuesday or Friday, or the Ashtami or Chaturdashi tithi of the month. We help you pick a suitable date when you book.

Ritual Vidhi & Flow

1. Sankalp and Ganesh puja: the pandits state your family's purpose and invoke Lord Ganesha. 2. Kalash and Devi sthapana: the Goddess is invoked on a kalash. Navagraha puja is done as per the pandit's tradition. 3. Durga Saptashati path: the five pandits recite the Chandi path, nine times in total. 4. Havan: ghee and samagri are offered into the sacred fire. 5. Purnahuti: the final offering that completes the yagna. 6. Aarti and prasad: aarti to the Goddess, then prasad for the family and guests. The full ritual takes about 9 hours in a single day.
