Why is Ganesha prayed to first?
He is the traditional remover of obstacles, so most pujas begin by invoking him.
Do I need a pandit for a Ganesh puja at home?
Not for a simple aarti. For a full Ganesh sthapana or a larger puja, a pandit conducts the rites.
